"Malcova is an early stage company looking to bring about a paradigm shift in breast cancer radiology"
About
Malcova is an early-stage medical device startup leveraging its proprietary Narrow-Beam Computed Tomography technology and AI-based advances in software to deliver medical imaging solutions that are highly effective for clinicians and safe, comfortable, and accessible for patients. As Co-Founder, Dr. Ghazi is leading efforts to revolutionize early breast cancer detection — especially for women with dense breast tissue — through a breakthrough imaging platform, and is deeply committed to advancing technologies that give women better choices and outcomes in their healthcare.
Background
Dr. Ghazi is a cognitive neuroscientist by training whose scientific expertise is centered around how humans perceive, think about, and remember visual-spatial information. After more than a decade in industry, she returned to pursue graduate education and now brings that combined experience to bear at Malcova, coupling scientific rigor with technical and leadership skills in the service of women's health. She previously held research positions at Johns Hopkins University, Johns Hopkins Medicine, the Marvell Nanofabrication Laboratory, and the University of Cambridge, and holds a B.A. with Honors from UC Berkeley and an M.A. from Johns Hopkins University. Malcova is a recipient of funding from the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health, including an NSF Phase II SBIR award.
